It is well known that Jehovah's Witnesses don't accept blood transfusions, even if their lives are at risk. What many people don't realise is that this blood policy is much more complex than it appears. For example, Jehovah's Witnesses are not allowed to store their own blood for later use. They cite the Old Testament practice of pouring blood on the ground to claim that blood should not be stored for later reuse, even if it is your own blood. However, Jehovah's Witnesses now allow certain blood fractions that come from stored blood. Furthermore, Jehovah's Witnesses won't donate blood, but many will accept blood fractions (The Watchtower society leaves it up to their conscience. Some will still refuse, just to play it "safe".) that come from the donated blood of others. How many litres of transfused blood does it take to make a certain fraction of blood? How is it possible to approve fractions of blood, when these fractions come from transfused blood? The Watchtower by allowing fractions, they are allowing transfusions of blood, because one can not come without the other.
How many lives have been sacrificed along the way following a confusing blood policy? One,... is too many.
It appears to be leaning towards legal implications of advice and responsibility rather than what the scriptures instruct.
It appears that at one time fractions of blood were not allowed. How many lives could have been saved? Who takes responsibility for changes in the blood policy? What is said to relatives whose family members have died but could be alive today if they had administered blood fractions? It can be said the blood policy has changed. Lives could have been saved.
Jehovah witnesses are taking scriptures from the bible and flipping the meaning around the bible says not to eat blood ..jw is a cult
If it is true the Watchtower Society does not approve transfusions of blood. How is it possible to approve fractions of blood. And if it is true Watchtower members do not donate blood. Yet benefit from non-members donating blood that is put into fractions of blood that members are allowed to have.
Something is wrong here. Lets look at an example of obeying the law of the land. You must not steal, as an example. Someone you know breaks into a Band and steals a huge amount of cash. He offers you some of the cash. You take it knowing is was stolen.
Are you guilty of receiving stolen cash? Yes you are. You knew it was stolen. You received it.
From the Bible's point of view. Why is it that Watchtower members can not donate blood? Is it because the Bible says you can not donate blood?
Then how is it possible for a Watchtower member to benefit from a non-member donating their blood?
Is there any difference in principle to sharing in the stolen cash from the bank in God's eyes?
